Tick-tock, time's running out! Valentine's Day is almost upon us and you still haven't figured out the perfect gift for a special mom or dad in your life.
We've gone ahead and put together a quick list of a few things we know parents will actually enjoy for Valentine's Day. (And psst: these make great gifts year-round... not just for Valentine's Day!)
Time
Ahhh, the elusive gift of time! You can wrap this up a million different ways - time to him/herself to use however they want, time out with friends at a favorite local restaurant or brewery, time for some pampering at the spa, time with you! Heck, even a solo trip to Target or the grocery store can feel like a luxury to busy parent.
Help
Chances are, you and your partner are pulling off small miracles on a daily basis. How about lining up some professional help to lighten the load for a bit. Bring in a house cleaning service or some fresh meal delivery. Perhaps some time with a personal assistant/concierge (Iike Asheville's own Tick Tock Concierge) to free up the to-do list. Little ones at home? Consider booking a few shifts with one of our Doulas of Asheville Postpartum Doulas. (Did you know we work days and nights?! Which brings us to...)
Sleep!
What's that? You didn't know you could actually give someone the gift of sleep?? Oh yes you can! Our postpartum doulas work overnights, helping tired parents get the sleep they need. We work with parents that have all sorts of sleep goals and parenting styles and with children of all ages (well, beyond the newborn stage for sure!). Whether you are into attachment parenting or schedules, breastfeeding or formula feeding, our doulas will work with you to help you and your baby(ies) get some restful, restorative SLEEP. Ahhhhh......
Appreciation
Jewelry, flowers, and chocolates are certainly nice, but we have yet to meet a mom or dad (or anyone for that matter) who doesn't cherish the gift of appreciation. Help the kids create a handmade card or craft, or write a heartfelt letter about how much s/he means to you. If you're not big on letter writing or crafts, put together a photo book to document all the memories you've captured on your phone but never take the time to actually print.
